Tyler the Creator featuring Vince Staples and Taco

Hip-hop artist Tyler the Creator will be performing at The Rave on Sunday March 4 along with Vince Staples and Taco in support of most recent studio album Flower Boy, which was released in July 2017 and was entirely self-produced. The album was critically acclaimed and debuted at No. 2 on Billboard Top 200. Flower Boy was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 60th annual Grammy Awards, losing out to Kendrick Lamar’s Damn. While Tyler the Creator’s earlier albums embody darker themes, Flower Boy marks a more melodic and mature release from the rapper.

After selling out shows across the U.K. in support of her long-awaited sophomore album, Melodrama, Grammy Award-winning Lorde is bringing her Melodrama World Tour to North America. Along for the ride this time around is hip-hop duo Run the Jewels and special guest Tove Styrke. Melodrama was released in June 2017, almost four years after her debut release Pure Heroine, and was nominated for album of the year at the 60th annual Grammy Awards.

Iron Chic featuring Dusk and Telethon

Iron Chic will be performing at the Cactus Club on Feb. 28 in support of its third full-length album titled You Can’t Stay Here — its first since 2013. The band is known for tackling themes like the uncertainties and disappointments of life and presenting them in the form of melodic punk anthems that invite their audience to climb on top of each other and sing along. Iron Chic will be receiving local support from Appleton-based Dusk and Milwaukee-based Telethon. The latter’s latest release was a thirty-track, five-act rock opera titled The Grand Spontanean: A Tale Told in Five Acts.

Nickel&Rose featuring Father Sky

Milwaukee’s Nickel&Rose will be embarking on a European tour for two and a half months, but not before Milwaukee gives them a proper send-off with a show at Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co. The American-folk duo, consisting of upright bassist Johanna Rose and guitarist Carl Nichols, will be performing alongside Milwaukee’s Father Sky, a relatively new lyric-song project from pianist Anthony Deutsch. Nickel&Rose incorporates elements of blues, soul, jazz and African music into a unique brand of deeply personal American folk music. The act’s upcoming European tour will be its second run overseas.

Gas Station Sushi featuring Red Lodge and Rocket Paloma

Local all-girl, teenage-rock band Gas Station Sushi will be celebrating the release of their first studio EP titled Uglier in Person. Gas Station Sushi is a product of the Girls Rock MKE camp, where young female musicians learn to play instruments and form bands together. There was an undeniable chemistry between members of the band and they continued to play music together after their stay at camp. They are a self-proclaimed “snark-pop” band, featuring catchy guitar riffs paired with oddball lyrics. The band will receive support from Milwaukee acts Red Lodge and Rocket Paloma. Both groups are also fronted by female musicians.

Screaming Females featuring Radiator Hospital and Detenzione

Hot on the heels of the release of their latest album, All At Once, New Jersey-based Screaming Females will be once again hitting the road and performing at the Cactus Club. The band is known for its dedication to its DIY roots and high-energy live shows, and has been touring and creating new music nonstop for over ten years. Along for the ride are Pennsylvania rockers Radiator Hospital and heavy-hitting Milwaukee punks Detenzione.
