First half/match outcome

Contents

“First half/match outcome” is a market in football in which a punter tries to predict the outcome of the first half and the outcome of the whole match at the same time.

The “First half/match outcome” bet wins, when a punter manages to guess the outcomes of the first half and of the match from three possible options – 1×2 – the victory of the first team, the draw and the victory of the second team. There are nine choices possible.

For example, for the match between Chelsea and Stoke City the choices are:

1. Chelsea/Chelsea – Chelsea wins both the first half and the match.

2. Chelsea/Draw – Chelsea wins the first half and the match ends with a draw.

3. Chelsea/Stoke City – Chelsea wins the first half and Stoke City wins the match.

4. Draw/Chelsea – the first half ends in a draw and Chelsea wins the match.

5. Draw/Draw – the first half and the match both end with a draw.

6. Draw/Stoke City – the first half ends in a draw and Stoke City wins the match.

7. Stoke City/Chelsea – Stoke City wins the first half and the match winner is Chelsea.

8. Stoke City/Draw – Stoke City wins the first half and the match ends with a draw.

9. Stoke City/Stoke City – Stoke City wins both the first half and the match.

A bet “Chelsea/Draw” was made on the market “First half/match outcome”. The first half ended with a 2:1 score, and the final score was 2:2. The bet wins because the first half ended with Chelsea’s advantage and the match ended with a draw.
