West Ham – Manchester United. Gabriele Marcotti’s prediction
The single biggest discriminant here is which you think is greater: West Ham’s desire to bounce back from the horrific battering at the hands of Swansea last weekend in their final game at the Boleyn Ground or Manchester United’s motivation in winning, thereby nosing their way in front in the hunt for a top four finish. I lean towards the former. Other than Swansea, West Ham had not lost at home since August. That’s called an aberration, a game where everything went wrong for them and everything right for the opposition. Manchester United are what they are right now, a team that grinds out results without impressing. I think the play here is the draw at 3.2 or, better yet, a score draw, which you can get at 4.00 with William Hill. United have only been shut out once in their last 11 games. West Ham have found the net in 15 consecutive matches.
