Just 3 fights ago Alex was a UFC debutant, but now he is number 4 in the rankings and a top contender for the title. You can’t really say that Alex deserved this chance because he didn’t get past the likes of Whittaker, Vettori, and Cannonier. Instead, he got a pretty good match for Sean Strickland. I don’t think the 35 years old Brazilian is ready for Adesanya after fighting guys like that. But this fight is relevant, so the matchmakers made it in November. The backstory played a crucial role here, not Pereira’s accomplishments.
Alex won a kickboxing dilemma against Adesanya, but for knowledgeable fans, it’s not as simple as that. Their first fight was clearly won by Israel, but the win was given to Alex.
