Werder Bremen continued their excellent run of form on Wednesday night by beating Schalke 3-0 in front of a home crowd. Although they weren’t totally dominant during that fixture, Bremen showed just how much they’ve improved by answering any defensive questions asked before striking at the other end, utilising the counter-attack to great effect.

In stark contrast to their visitors, Frankfurt have been really struggling of late and were again on the losing side on Wednesday night. Against a Bremen side who’re thriving right now, the hosts could find themselves up against it – something that’s becoming all too familiar to Niko Kovač’s men.

At the prices, just as they were in each of their last two fixtures, Bremen appear to have been massively underestimated. Of course such a run of form is bound to come to an end at some point, but they’ve shown little signs of slowing down in recent weeks and, taking into account Frankfurt’s woes, are well worth siding with on the ‘Draw No Bet’ market.

Alexander Nouri’s Bremen side are now unbeaten in seven Bundesliga matches, six of which they’ve won. Winning is one thing, but what’s been really impressive is the manner in which the Green-Whites seem to be steadily growing in both confidence and productivity with each victory. The visitors are dispelling any notions that they’re still a team incapable of defending, while their efforts at the other end of the pitch are getting better and better – as shown by the fact that they’ve scored 11 goals in their last three league fixtures (for just two in reply).

If Bremen are growing in attacking confidence as each week passes, then Frankfurt seem to be going the other way. The hosts are now without a goal in their last four Bundesliga matches. They’re not exactly getting torn apart each week having conceded just five during that time, but their efforts in the final third have been severely lacking.

Quite frankly, if you can’t score goals then you stand little chance of competing in games. The fact that the injured Alex Meier is Frankfurt’s top scorer this season with just five goals says it all. In recent campaigns, Meier has been their go-to man for goals, but with the veteran striker out, and not in sparkling form anyway, Frankfurt are finding goals very hard to come by.

Ahead of a game against a team who’re scoring goals left, right and centre, Frankfurt’s lack of firepower really is a worry. For all they’re OK at the back, the hosts probably aren’t solid enough to simply sit deep and soak up pressure and will thus have to come out and play. Such tactics will suit the visitors, who, with their superior quality and extra attacking options, can once again flourish.

With these two seemingly heading in opposite directions for the time being, backing the visitors to continue going well in the form of ‘Werder Bremen Draw No Bet’ makes plenty of sense.
