First takes on last in this final Premier League match as champions Chelsea , who will look to finish their successful Premier League campaign with a win, host Sunderland who were relegated a while ago after a grim season.

Chelsea are of course in fantastic form at the moment having won their last six matches in all competitions. However, with the title already sealed and an FA Cup final to look forward to next week, it will be interesting to see if Antonio Conte chooses to rest players on Sunday in this dead rubber.

As I have said on pretty much every Chelsea preview this season, they have been fantastic in both boxes. They are the league’s top scorers with an incredible 80 goals whilst they have also conceded just 32, keeping 16 clean sheets. Their goal-scoring streak looks like it will not be ending any time soon and they have now scored a frightening 19 in those aforementioned six matches – an average of 3.16 per game. Additionally, although they conceded three against Watford last time out, the Hornets’ opener was the first time the Blues had conceded in 294 minutes of football. This match was also the first time that Chelsea had conceded three in any competition since 24th September.

Unsurprisingly, Conte’s side’s home form has been outstanding all season having won all but two of their matches at Stamford Bridge in all competitions. Additionally, they have also found the back of the net in every home match this campaign and scored more home goals than any other top flight team (50). Defensively, they have been strong and have a home clean sheet ratio of 44% – although they have conceded five in their last three.

If you were looking for a club who have had a completely contrasting season to Chelsea, Sunderland should be the first one you think of. They have failed to give their fans any hope at all this season and are now guaranteed to finish rock bottom of the Premier League.

Striker Jermain Defoe has been the shining light for the Black Cats this campaign but, aside from him, they have been awful up front. After Defoe, their top goalscorers are Victor Anichebe and Fabio Borini with three each which tells you all you need to know. At the back, they have again been woeful and, if it was not for the form of young goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, they would have shipped twice as many goals. Sunderland have kept just one clean sheet in their last nine games.

David Moyes’ men have had a couple of bright spots on their travels this season with victories at Crystal Palace and Hull. However, other than that they have been terrible with just ten points taken from a possible 54.

Interestingly, Sunderland have only conceded more than three goals away at a top seven side on just one occasion this season which shows they tend to set up very defensively on their travels. Additionally, 50% of Sunderland’s away matches have been 0-0 at half time.. I am not saying that will happen here but it is something to keep an eye on. The bet that is hard to get away from is ‘Chelsea to Score Over 1.5 Second Half Goals’ as they will surely cap off the season with another win and take advantage of a tired Sunderland in the second 45.
