Brighton – Sheffield Wednesday. Gabriele Marcotti’s prediction
The visitors are two-nil up from the the first leg and are just about at full-strength. Not so Brighton: not only are they in a hole, but Dale Stephens is suspended in midfield, while veteran striker Bobby
Zamora is out and no fewer than four players – Hemed, Knockaert, Goldson and Sidwell – are listed as doubtful. The bookies still see Brighton as favorites, perhaps because the gap between these two teams was so big in the regular season and because Wednesday rather backed their way into the playoffs. Still, there’s a lot of pressure on Brighton and I think they will be significantly weaker in the middle of the park, thereby placing more stress on their defence. Yet Brighton will have to gamble and Wednesday have shown the ability to hit on the break. For that reason, I’d back over 2.5 goals at 2.1
