Austria v Hungary: Gabriele Marcotti’s betting tip
Austria are very fashionable among many and it’s not hard to see why. They sailed through qualifying undefeated, winning nine of ten. They have genuine quality in certain positions too and their strikers are awkward to play against. At the same time, Hungary limped through qualifying winning just four of 10 and their recent performances in friendlies haven’t been great. There’s little value in backing Austria. I’d rather go for the overs here at 6/4 for over 2.5 goals with William Hill.
Having been involved in an over 2.5 outcome in seven of their last eight games Austria have seen plenty of goals go in lately. They will look to press this Hungary side and – playing on the front foot – you’d be surprised if they weren’t able to do some damage, although Hungary should also get a few chances of their own and can cause problems for the favourites on the counter.
