Will Andre Onana play against Senegal after being dropped against Guinea?
AFCON 2023 has kicked off and there have been several surprises already.
Ivory Coast, who are the tournament hosts, celebrated a 2-0 win over Guinea-Bissau. Meanwhile, Egypt as well as Ghana and Cameroon, that are considered favorites to win the tournament, dropped points.
Cameroon faced Guinea and played a 1-1 draw without their goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Onana was in goal when Manchester United faced Tottenham on Sunday and after the 2-2 draw he departed on a private jet to join up with his international team.
However, he was unable to land in Yamoussoukro, where the game was taking place, due to fog. He eventually got there priot to the game but was dropped from the matchday squad.
In their next game, Cameroon face Senegal, and the fans will be hoping to see Onana in goal. The game is scheduled for Friday, January 19, 2024.
Cameroon are currently second in their group with just one point.
