Sergio Perez about the breakthrough in 5th place
Well, in qualifying I got caught not respecting the track limits. So I think at the end of the sprint it was better to drop the pace a little bit, but be sure to stay on the track.
Overall, though, we had a good race, got back on track pretty well, had a good start, and didn’t get into any trouble. Although it was not easy – Lewis tried to attack, many of the pilots were active fighting side by side, in particular in the third corner. I think we have squeezed the maximum out of the situation, for us it is a strong result.
I also enjoyed the fight, enjoyed the overtaking. Unfortunately, when I overtook that group (Hamilton, Schumacher, Magnussen), I couldn’t overtake the next one, they were too far away. In any case, I’m looking forward to the race tomorrow, I’ll try to get a good start, and then we’ll see, said Perez.
