Mick Schumacher on the fight with Hamilton
Schumacher managed to hold off Lewis Hamilton for a long time in Saturday’s sprint, and in the race the German managed to perform even better and finished sixth.
The main thing I have learned is that we are all human and that we can all make mistakes. That every driver, under a lot of pressure, can make a mistake sooner or later.
So yes, it was important for me to learn that and not be afraid to fight with anyone else on the track.
We showed the potential of our cars, the potential of our pilots. We know what our car needs so we can be fast. At the start of the season our car looked very strong, then the teams started bringing in new stuff. At some point we could go a little astray in terms of finding the optimal settings for the car, but then we came to a great option settings, while the competitors at times can also have problems. And all this translates into results such as in Austria, said Schumacher.
