Wales vs Czech Republic prediction for Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier at Principality Stadium in Cardiff. 4th placed in Group E Wales host group leader the Czech Republic. Follow along for our free prediction and betting tips.

Wales looking for their first point(s)

After their group’s opening defeat against Belgium last week, Wales were off from WCQ games and played a friendly instead, beating Mexico 1-0. In the match against Belgium, coach Ryan Giggs’ men were outclassed by the Belgian side who enjoyed 79% of ball Possession.

That was only the second time where Wales have conceded more than two goals in a match in 14 competitive matches. The Welsh are on good form at home as they haven’t lost in 11 matches dating back to November 2018 against Denmark.

Ryan Giggs hopes to continue that run as they host The Czech Republic. Although defensively the Welsh side has not been so bad, they need to improve in attack as they have scored more than one goal on just one occasion in the past eight matches.

Czech Republic to maintain their lead of Group E

It was a confidence-boosting draw against FIFA world ranking’s number one Belgium for the Czech Republic in their last match. After beating Estonia in their first match 6-2, The Czechs are leading their group and looking for their first World Cup appearance since 2006.

Coming into this match, coach Jaroslav Silhavy knows his team may be in a battle for the second spot with their hosts, hence he knows it is important to get a positive result here. The Czech Republic have not drawn on the road for nearly four years, they’ll be happy with a point here though.

In their last match against Belgium, the Czechs opened the scoring but their lead lasted for just ten minutes. Although the Belgians had more ball possession, the Czechs had more goal attempts with 13 of which nine were on target.

Key Stats

  • Wales are unbeaten in 11 home matches
  • Wales have scored in all of their last nine competitive home matches
  • Wales haven’t scored more than one goal in nine of their last ten matches
  • Czech Republic have three wins and one defeat in their last four away matches.
  • Czech Republic have scored in three of their last four away matches
  • Czech Republic have failed to score in one of their last ten matches

Wales vs Czech Republic Prediction

Although Wales do not score many goals in a match, yet they have scored in their last nine home matches in all competitions. They have very good attacking players and we believe they are capable of scoring against any side.

In the Czech Republic’s last ten games on all competitions including friendlies, 60% of the time both teams have scored. The Czechs are also a good attacking team and they create a lot of chances as they did in their last two matches having 33 goal attempts in both games.

We think it’s a good value to back both teams to score at 1.91.
