Villarreal – Napoli. Valeri Karpin’s prediction
We don’t always rank these teams as favourites, but they are likely to start their Champions league campaign next season. Napoli are excellent in Serie A: they were leading but lost to Juventus in the last game and moved into second place. Villarreal can hardly challenge the big Spanish trio (Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid), but fourth place is a realistic target for them.
I can’t say if both teams have enough motivation for the Europa League. The winner goes to Champions League, but the distance is long and it’s taking a lot of strength. Napoli are likely to reach Champions league spot in Serie A as well. They need the energy to fight for the title. But if both teams take Europa League seriously, we can expect a draw in the upcoming game. Maybe Napoli looks sharper, but Villarreal are playing at home.
I think both teams will score here. Both are successful in attacking in Europa League and they surely can continue to score.
