How changeable is football! Here’re a couple of examples. More recently, Getafe won three matches in a row, and in the following six games suffered six defeats. With Valencia, that’s exactly the opposite. They have not won 12 consecutive matches in the national championship league and were going to lose the 13th game. But Gary Neville’s team turned the tide of the match against Espanyol and have been on a winning streak since then. 10:0 on aggregate against Rapid, 2:1 against Espanyol, 2:1 in Granada, and now Valencia are close to their fifth victory in a row!
The situation currently favors the team of Gary Neville. This is the only club of Primera without injured or suspended players. Their last match against Rapid was a warm-up for Valencia after the 6-0 in the first leg.
On the other hand, Athletic Bilbao had a very difficult match against Marseille on Thursday. The Basques have looked very tired in their recent games and they are on the decline and need a pause. But there’s no vacation time for Athletic, and they have troubles with the roster. Raul Garcia, recovered after his injury and got suspended in the very first match after returning. And Inaki Williams who brought huge benefits in recent games, was injured. So it’s logical to assume that Valencia will win at Mestalla against the Basques.
