Ufa – Spartak Moscow. Thomas Giles prediction
Ufa have slipped into the relegation places over the course of the last few weeks and must now record a win at home to Spartak Moscow to have any chance of staying up. Spartak have already guaranteed Europa League football for next season thanks to a recent upturn in form which has seen them win their last four matches with all of these victories recorded with clean sheets.
Yevgeny Perevertaylo’s Ufa are one of the division’s lowest scorers, however, they do have arguably the best prospect in the division in Ukrainian youngster Oleksandr Zinchenko who has been linked with moves to Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund. He is likely to cause trouble to Spartak’s defence as he will look to show what he is capable of with a summer departure likely.
Although Alenichev’s Spartak side have kept those four clean sheets recently, I cannot see them adding a fifth to that collection with Ufa desperately going for the win. Despite the side from Bashkortostan desperately needing a win, I do not think they will be able to record it against a Spartak side who are in great form.
Spartak win and both teams to score seems good value at 15/4 and it should be quite an entertaining game.
