Sunderland – Everton. Tancredi Palmeri’s prediction
Incredibly Sunderland can save themselves with a game to spare, who would’ve thought it? Unbeaten in their last four games, only four other teams have a better streak (Newcastle included, poor Benitez).
On the other hand, Everton have an abysmal recent record, only one win in their last nine games: basically they unplugged any motivation as soon as they were safe from the drop, but too far behind to achieve anything else. Now Roberto Martinez is under serious scrutiny, as his future at the club seems to come into question more and more as each game passes. This isn’t unfair either, because at the moment Everton look set for their worst season in the last 12 years (along which they had good seasons, but all in all only once finished at top-4).
Sunderland are simply more motivated for this one, and look capable of finding those extra gears if needed: There are good odds from William Hill on a Sunderland win at 1.80.
