Sporting Gijon – Eibar. Valeri Karpin’s prediction
Sporting Gijon are currently fighting for their lives in the top flight, and after a few positive results of late they are now just one point below the safety of 17th place. In recent games they’ve started to play some good stuff (ignore the last away game against Barcelona). Defeating both Atletico Madrid and Sevilla at home is a good sign for them.
Since they have definitely secured their stay in the Primera, Eibar now have nothing to fight for. This means they are unlikely to approach the game with the same level of intensity. But since Gijon will be fighting with everything they have it would be no surprise to see them come away from this one with a much needed three points.
