Sporting Gijon – Barcelona. Editors’ prediction
Barcelona will face Sporting Gijon to warm up all the football fans before the Champions league matches. Luis Enrique’s team should be totally relaxed because they are already three points ahead of Atletico Madrid in La Liga. And today they can increase the gap by winning at Gijon. Yes, they had only two days to rest after the crazy game vs Celta Vigo (6:1). But the Catalans are at the peak of their form and they have a good bench to rotate players. And trying to take a stand against today’s Barcelona is like visiting a firefight with a knife.
If we remember the last five games of Barcelona in La Liga, we’ll see that at least two goals were scored in the first half in four of them. The same with Sporting Gijon: two and more goals in the first half in four of their five last matches (there were three, four and even five). No need to scout each other. So we can expect at least two goals in the first half. The odds at 1.80 are pretty decent.
