Spartak Moscow v Krylia Sovetov Betting Tip
The league’s most attacking and entertaining side, Spartak Moscow, go up against arguably the league’s most conservative and defensive side in Krylia Sovetov.
After their embarrassing defeat to Cypriot side AEK Larnaca in the Europa league midweek, Spartak manager Dmitri Alenichev walked away from the dugout of the Red-Whites. At least that was the official confirmation. Most onlookers suspect he was pushed.
This is a somewhat harsh decision given that the Moscow side looked like they were moving forward under the stewardship of their former striker after a great end to last season and a stunning 4-0 victory over Arsenal Tula on the opening weekend of the season. It will be interesting to see how Spartak players react to the loss of their manager.
Krylia Sovetov were one of the best defensive sides in the league last season but had huge trouble at the other end of the pitch. They are still yet to sign a striker, which could spell out a bad season for Franky Vercauteren’s side if the Wings of the Soviets fail to act on this sooner rather than later.
Alenichev’s departure makes no difference to the fact that Spartak’s squad is better than Krylia’s. Arsenal Tula caused absolutely no trouble to the Spartak back line last weekend and I cannot imagine Krylia’s attempt at doing so will be any better, particularly away from home.
Spartak to win to nil is 29/20 and is well-worth backing.
