Spartak Moscow – Terek Grozny – Thomas Giles prediction
Despite being some way off their city rivals Lokomotiv a few weeks ago, Dmitri Alenichev’s Spartak Moscow side have managed to leapfrog them into 5th spot and a potential Europa League place. Spartak are a fairly erratic team which is at odds with Monday’s opponents Terek who are a team lacking much in the way of forward strength, but are pretty solid at the back.
This game is a big match in terms of those previously mentioned Europa League spots as Terek can move into that 5th place with a win over Spartak due to their superior goal difference.
However, Spartak have picked up three wins on the bounce so confidence will be sky high. I expect them to win against Terek but predict a low scoring game due to the nervousness that will surround the occasion whilst Terek’s stubborn defence will prove hard to break down.
