Southampton – Watford. Editors’ prediction
Southampton are in dire straits. The team got only 3 points in the last 5 games and are now only 13th in the table. The defence is poor while the attack largely depends on Graziano Pelle who will miss the game.
Saints will also miss key central midfielder Victor Wanyama and long-absent Jay Rodriguez.
Watford have lost momentum, too, but they played against Chelsea, Tottenham and Man City in the last 3 games. No surprise they got only one point in these games. Quique Flores’ team looked solid and scored 4 goals. Their defence wasn’t that bad, conceding goals only in difficult situations (for example, when they had a player sent-off in the Tottenham game).
Outside the home stadium, Watford are good, getting 10 points in the last 5 games. This is the second best result in the Premier League. They’ve got no injuries with Nathan Ake being suspended.
Conclusion: Watford look like a better team prior the game. Southampton’s key player injuries make me more confident in backing Watford. Draw no bet Watford sounds like a good choice.
