This League One match should be an exciting affair as we see a Yorkshire derby between two sides toward the top of the table come head-to-head as division champions Sheffield United host play-off hopefuls Bradford.

Sheffield United have stormed to the League One title this season after a terrific campaign, however, there are no signs of letting up and they will no doubt be looking to reach the 100-point mark.

The Blades have been brilliant in the final third and have by far and away the best goal-scoring record in the division with 83 whilst they have also scored in their last 11 league matches. Defensively though, they have been exploited on a number of occasions and their Goals Against record of 45 is the worst in the top four.

Bramall Lane has been a fortress for Chris Wilder’s men with no defeats in their last six home matches, scoring in each of them and winning the most recent four. They also have the best home record in the division with 48 points from 21 games.

Bradford have also been in great form recently and have won their last three matches and five of the last eight overall. This puts them 4th in the table and six points ahead of that dreaded 7th spot with just three games to go.

In contrast to Sheffield United, Stuart McCall’s side have based their game very much on defence, demonstrated by the fact they have the second-best defensive record in the division whilst they have also not conceded in their last three games. They do not score too many but they have found the back of the net on a consistent basis throughout the course of the campaign and last failed to score in the league back on 14th January.

Away form has been a bit patchy for the Bantams of late with just one win in their last three away from Valley Parade. However, the fact they have scored in each of their last eight away matches could pose problems for an open Sheffield United side.

Although they have already won the title, Sheffield United will be very keen to ensure they get a result here. I would certainly look at backing them on their own turf, especially with Bradford’s inconsistent away form, and think Evens is a decent price on the simple home win.
