Rostov v Tom Tomsk Betting Tip

Two sides who play conservative football will go head-to-head in this Russian Premier League clash. A win will be the target for Rostov whilst a draw would be an excellent result for Tom Tomsk.

Rostov, now under the guidance of Dmitri Kirichenko, managed to score a vital away goal in Amsterdam as well as hold Ajax to a 1-1 draw, if they can keep their usual good form at the Olimp-2 then the Champions League group stage surely beckons.

Their last Russian Premier League game was a much less happy affair as they threw away a 2-0 lead at half time to lose 3-2 away at Zenit St. Petersburg. Captain Aleksandr Gatskan’s silly sending off just before half time was probably the main cause of this upturn.

Probably the worst news for Rostov this week was defender Bastos leaving for Lazio. The Angolan was a vital part of Rostov’s solid defence which has propelled them to the success they are enjoying today.

Tom Tomsk were battered on the opening day by current RPL leaders Krasnodar but have managed to improve in the last two games and secured a respectable draw away at Lokomotiv Moscow, before claiming a solid 1-0 win at home to lowly FC Ufa.

As previously mentioned these two sides are quite conservative and I do not expect the most exciting game with few goals.

You would expect Rostov to come out on top and, despite the suspension of Gatskan and the sale of Bastos, Kirichenko’s side still have the better players on paper.

You can actually get a straight Rostov win for decent value at 107/100 but if you fancy a bit more return I would go with Rostov to win to nil at 19/10.
