Real Madrid looking for yet another CL final
It has been a very long season for Real Madrid. Los Blancos are still fighting on two fronts. With La Liga still not having a champion, Zidane’s team lost very crucial two points on Saturday after drawing with Real Betis at Alfredo di Stefano Stadium. Zidane will hope to have a better result on Tuesday as they take on Chelsea who, unlike Real, beat West Ham in their last match.
Real have registered three 0-0 draws in the last four games and are undefeated in their last 17 matches in all competitions. It will be Real’s sixth match in 18 days all of which were very high-intensity games. Real have scored 18 goals in the Champions league in ten matches and have conceded 11. Real Madrid are known for their great success in the CL and they have the most wins in this inaugural tournament.
Chelsea need a good first eg performance
The Blues are the second English team in a row after Liverpool to play Real Madrid. Liverpool lost the tie in the first leg 3-1 in Madrid. Chelsea will have to do their best to have a better score than that. Chelsea are performing very well under Thomas Tuchel. The Blues have lost one of their last six matches in all competitions and enter this match after registering three clean sheets in their last three games.
Chelsea are unbeaten in the last ten away matches and have just one defeat in the Champions League this season and that was against Porto in their last match. Tuchel’s men have scored 19 goals in ten matches and conceded just three in the CL. They need to maintain that defensive strength in this first leg. They have won their last five away games in the Cl and would love to have a similar result here.
Key Stats
- 50% of Real Madrid matches ended in under 2.5 goals
- 60% of Chelsea matches ended in under 2.5 goals
- Real scored in one of their last three matches
- Chelsea have scored three goals in four matches
Real Madrid vs Chelsea Prediction
Both of these teams have scored few goals in their last four matches, three to be exact. Real haven’t conceded in four matches and with Varane and Carvajal back from injury they will be even tougher to break down.
Thomas Tuchel’s style of play is based on good defending and with three clean sheets in their last three away matches in the CL, Chelsea as well are very tough defensively.
We predict a low-scoring game based on their last matches and their stats.
