Queens Park Rangers v Swindon Town Betting Tips
Running out as winners on Saturday, both of these sides got off to the ideal start in their respective leagues.
QPR routed Leeds United 3-0 at home to perhaps show that they finally mean business this season after some serious post-relegation mediocrity.
The West London side have spent over four million on mostly defensive acquisitions this summer including Legia Warsaw’s Polish title winner Ariel Borysiuk. Rangers are a side who have had little trouble in finding the back of the net in recent years but in defence they have generally been pretty woeful. These new signings could see that change and bring on a promotion push in 2016/17.
Swindon managed to overcome Coventry City 1-0 thanks to an 86th minute Yaser Kasim goal in their season opener but still find themselves down in ninth place in League One due to other results. After a poor campaign last season, the Robins will be looking to push on this season and break into the top 6 – with the ideal situation winning promotion into the Championship. With this in mind I am not sure how seriously they will take this season’s League Cup.
I expect plenty of changes for both sides, but fancy QPR can handle this much better than their League One opposition. It’s hard to imagine Swindon causing trouble for this improved QPR side and would back the Hoops to win to nil at 9/5 with Paddy Power.
