Porto vs Flamengo Arcoverde – Preview, Prediction and Betting Tips 25/01/2024
The Pernambuco championship reaches its fourth round and at this point in the competition, some teams are standing out on the leaderboard.
This is not the case for Porto and Flamengo Arcoverde, who face each other on Thursday night, in an absolutely fundamental game for teams fighting against relegation to the second state division.
Porto
Porto is in last place in the league, with no points gained, as they lost the first 3 games they played so far.
They have scored 4 goals and have by far the worst defense in the Pernambuco championship, with 10 goals conceded.
The team started with a defeat to Retrô, playing away from home with a score of 4-0. Then the team made its debut at home, but also ended up being defeated by Central, by 3-2.
On that occasion, after a goalless draw in the first half, they conceded 3 goals before 20 minutes into the second half and had their second defeat declared.
In the last match, Porto again played away from home and was crushed by Afogados da Ingazeira.
Although the final score was 3-2, which suggests a balance, the team was dominated from the first minutes.
Elias Bueno scored twice and Alemão scored another, making it 3-0 for Afogados before the break, who then managed their advantage and confirmed the 3 points.
Porto has shown itself to be an absolutely insufficient team in its defensive phase.
Although now playing at home it is expected that they will be a more aggressive team, to get their first points, I don’t have confidence that they will pass with their goal intact.
Flamengo Arcoverde
On the other side we have Flamengo Arcoverde, which is also in the relegation zone and occupies ninth place, with no points gained.
The team has lost all 3 matches it has played so far. It started with a defeat to Náutico, away from home by 2-0, which is not an abnormal result.
Afterwards, the team also faced Santa Cruz away from home, in a very tough start to the season and lost by one to zero.
The big problem was having debuted at home in the last round, and lost to Central.
On that occasion, the score was 3-2 for the visiting team, which until 20 minutes into the first half already had 2-0 on the scoreboard.
Flamengo managed to score shortly after the visiting team’s second goal, but in the first minutes of the final stage, they conceded the third goal, practically sealing yet another defeat.
They have also been a completely unstable team in their defensive phase and in yet another game away from home, I don’t expect this scenario to change.
However, nothing indicates favoritism for the home team, which is also coming off a terrible campaign.
Conclusion:
Due to the needs of both teams, our bet choice will be on the goal line, respecting the standard of both teams this season.
