Walsall have been fighting for promotion from League One under the radar as the focus has been very much on their Midlands rivals Burton Albion. However, the Saddlers have a great chance of joining their West Midlands colleagues Birmingham City and Aston Villa in the Championship next season.

Jon Witney’s side must win at Port Vale to have any chance of automatic promotion and hope that Burton Albion slip up against Doncaster. Additionally there must be a three goal swing. With this in mind you can be assured that the Walsall attack, including 16 goal Tom Bradshaw, will take the fight to Port Vale.

On the other hand you have 12th place Port Vale who have little to play for and may already have their flip flops on and already be on the beach. Expect the Saddlers to really go for this game as, after such a great season they do not want have to go through the battle of the play-offs. Additionally, with a three goal swing over Burton Albion required, Walsall will look to attack from the off.
