The two giants of Group A come head-to-head on Champions League opening night and it is almost impossible to see either of these sides failing to get through to the knockout rounds.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says that if you win all of your home games in the group stages then you should go through to the knockout stages. PSG manager Unai Emery has not had a fantastic start to his career in Paris with his new team currently 7th in Ligue 1 – a lowly position for a club of their stature.

Confidence will be low around the camp and, with doubts over key players such as Thiago Silva and Maxwell, an intense game against Arsenal is not want PSG will want right now.

The Gunners may have injury problems of their own with several players missing, however, they have recorded back-to-back victories in the Premier League and confidence will be boosted after their opening day loss at home to Liverpool.

Wenger’s side always get a big team in the Champions League group stage and they have certainly got that here. Having said that, they will be confident they can beat a seemingly out-of-sorts PSG side to top spot in the group and thus avoid a difficult last 16 tie after Christmas.

PSG are the favourites here with home advantage, however, I just think confidence will be too low to cope with Arsenal who are on a good run. I think the value bet in this match is ‘Arsenal Draw No Bet’. If Arsenal confirm suspicions and land the victory it’s a winner, but if they manage to secure just a point it’s money back. If like me, you feel Arsenal are capable of avoiding defeat at the very least here, then this is the bet to be on.
