Although they disappointed at Euro 2016, Germany will no doubt come out on top of this group with no real challengers to their inevitable crown. However, behind them, the rest of the group looks quite strong with three (including Norway) of the other five teams likely to be challenging for second place.

Norway suffered agony in the European Championship qualifiers. Firstly, they were just a solitary point behind Croatia and an automatic qualification spot before going through the heartbreak of being knocked out by Hungary in the playoffs, despite being favourites.

The Norwegians have not qualified for a tournament since Euro 2000 and face another tough task in their attempts to do so with this difficult group. However, if they put a good run together like they did in the Euro qualifiers then they may surprise a few people.

Despite a disappointing Euro 2016, Germany will no doubt be able to get their efficient machine moving once more in this World Cup qualifying campaign. With former stalwarts Bastian Schweinsteiger and Lukas Podolski now retired from international football, it has given the Germans a chance to blood youngsters such as Julian Brandt and Max Mayer. Both of these players were in the Germany team that won a silver medal at the recent Olympics.

In terms of this match it is hard to look beyond Germany. They should be scoring over three goals against their inferior opponents  and so I would advise Germany to win and Over 2.5 goals total at a profitable 13/10.

Aforementioned winger Julian Brandt was unjustifiably left out of Die Mannschaft’s final Euro 2016 squad after an excellent 2015/16 season with Bayer Leverkusen. However, this is now his opportunity to become the new star of the national side. The odds on him to score anytime on Sunday are good value at 12/5.
