Northern Ireland came into this tournament more in hope than expectation – especially after being draw in one of the tournament’s ‘groups of death’. However, after a shock win over Ukraine last time out, Michael O’Neill’s side have every chance of going through. An unlikely win against world champions Germany would guarantee progression but even a draw could be enough with UEFA’s new third place playoff rule change.

Germany have not had the most convincing start to Euro 2016, however, I am not surprised given they are a team that always hits form at the right time – the perfect tournament team. Many expected them to beat neighbours Poland last time out but failure to do so means there is pressure to win this last group match so that they qualify for the last 16 as group winners.

Of course Germany are the strong favourites and I am not sure I have seen a set of odds that are so one sided as this match. Obviously this means there is no value in just simply backing Germany whilst usually ‘go-to’ bets when there is no value in a simple win also offer little in return.

Unfortunately for the Green and White army, I cannot see them getting any sort of result against Germany. Joachim Low’s side need to better Poland’s result against Ukraine in order to secure top spot in Group C and, if you can count on anybody to do this job, it’s the Germans.

With this in mind, the best value bet I could find was a scoreline of 3-0 at anytime. The Germans have the quality to break down the Northern Irish barricade along with that extra motivation to win the group by securing a big result. We could see the competition’s biggest winning margin so far tomorrow night.
