Marseille v PSG. Tancredi Palmeri’s prediction
The season in France comes to an end today, but not before one last game – the cup final! or Coupe de France as it’s commonly known in France. This is a chance for PSG to end what has been another strong domestic season on high. There is also the chance for fans and players alike to say farewell to many personalities, one the most important definitely being Ibrahimovic. The Coupe de France final Marseille-PSG is the perfect chance for the proper exit.
Because it’s Zlatan it’s hard to believe he doesn’t have something extraordinary up his sleeve for this goodbye fixture, and you’d be foolish not to expect the Swede to go out in style. Obviously the odds on les Parisiennes are pretty low, so the trick is to assess and determine exactly how they’ll go about winning this one. Having said this, Marseille aren’t there just to clap hands and bow down to their opponents. An interesting stat is that in three of their five cup games Marseille have seen a draw at half time. This has also been a common theme for the Parisians too. PSG were also drawing at half time in four of the last five rounds. Given that this is a final, and that teams often like to approach cautiously and feel their way in, this looks like a good bet. But PSG are definite the stronger side and it would be a surprsie if they didn’t come out on top eventually. Therefore the bet to be on is Draw First Half-PSG Second Half at 16/5.
