Manchester City back to winning ways

After a shock loss to Crystal Palace at home and also exiting the Carabao Cup at the hands of West Ham, City are back on form after a 4-1 win against Club Brugge and then a 2-0 win at Old Trafford against Manchester United.

In the early stages of what looks to be a tight title race, Manchester City will see this game against an off-form Everton as a chance to at least keep pace with leaders Chelsea, while also heading off the remains of the top five.

Manchester City face Paris St Germain in midweek in the Champions League so there is the chance that Pep Guardiola will rotate his squad with that in mind.

Honeymoon period over for Benitez

After starting off his new career on the blue side of Merseyside with three league wins and a draw, Benitez and Everton have only gained a further five points from a possible 21, with no wins in their last five.

Things won’t get any easier for the Blues with games against Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea on the horizon.
