Lincoln Red Imps v Celtic Betting Tip
The Euros may be over but the European football of the 2016/17 season has only just started. We are now in the second qualifying round and there is an all-British clash between Lincoln Red Imps and former European Cup winners, Celtic.
Even though the level of Scottish football has decreased in recent years, despite measures by the Scottish FA to halt this decline, it is undoubtedly higher than the quality of football in Gibraltar. The team from the famous Island of the Rock have already come through one qualifying round in this season’s Champion’s League, beating Flora Tallinn from Estonia by a 3-2 aggregate scoreline.
The Imps have won 14 consecutive domestic titles but have only entered Champion’s League qualification three times, never getting beyond the second round. Although admittedly I am far from an expert on football in Gibraltar but iI’;m struggling to see any reason to side with them for this clash against the Scottish giants.
Of course backing Celtic to win represents no value whatsoever so you have to look at other markets. I would advise looking at the goal markets. Celtic have a potent strike force in Leigh Griffiths and new-signing Moussa Dembele which I am confident will run rings around the Imps. You can get Celtic to win and 5 or more goals in the match at 16/5 which allows for any surprising Imps goals alongside a likely, big Celtic win.
