This match sees the top two teams from Group G go head-to-head. Both sides are undefeated so far in the group stage and will know that a win on Tuesday night will lay down a real marker to the other three clubs.

After their heroics last season, Leicester City have had a poor start to their Premier League defence and currently sit in 13th place having lost 50% of their matches. However, they are understandably focusing all of their efforts on their maiden Champions League campaign which has distracted them from the domestic season.

The European season so far has been a completely different story and the Foxes have a 100% record after convincing wins over both Club Brugge and former tournament winners FC Porto and, at this stage, they look like they will almost certainly get out of the group.

This of course means that it is important not to pay too much attention to Leicester’s domestic form when looking at betting on their Champions League matches.

A player who has done well for the Premier League champions in their debut European campaign has been Islam Slimani. Whilst he has gone a bit off the boil since scoring two goals against Burnley on his Premier League debut, he has done well for Leicester in Europe so far and got the winner in their last match against Porto. He has certainly shown his experience at European level for his new club and I think he stands a good chance of scoring on Tuesday night. You can get odds of 9/5 with Betfair on the Algerian finding the back of the net against Copenhagen which looks a very decent price.

FC Copenhagen are probably one of the biggest surprise packages of the Champions League this year. After coming through three qualifying rounds against pretty good opposition undefeated, they have made a decent start to Group G and are still yet to lose a game.

Whilst it is surprising, Copenhagen fans are used to going on such incredible runs in the Danish league and they are still undefeated and sit top of the Superliga after 13 matches.

Ståle Solbakken’s team have been good in the final third and are Group G’s top scorers with five goals. In addition they are also solid at the back (conceding just once in the two games) which gives them the perfect combination. I would not be surprised to see them qualify from the group alongside Leicester after the six matches.

Although Copenhagen are a decent side, I would still side with a Leicester team who are prioritising the Champions League this season. The Foxes have had a poor start in the Premier League but this is mainly down to their away form where they have suffered defeat in all four of their matches with three out of four of them being lost by a three goal margin. Coming back to the King Power, where they have not lost a Premier League game for over a year, after their mauling at Chelsea will give them a huge boost.

Furthermore, Copenhagen are not the best on the road and have only tasted victory in one match out of their last eight away from Telia Parken in all competitions.

Of course Leicester are the favourites, but there is definitely a bet to be had here. Looking at other markets, the way punters should go here is ‘Leicester City to Win by a 2 (or more) Goal Margin’ at 43/20. Leicester have proved, especially in Europe, that they are still a force to be reckoned with at home and they should have too much for this Copenhagen side. Furthermore, the stark contrast between these two sides’ home and away form should this one come through.
