Legia Warsaw v AS Trenčín Betting Tip

The previous leg of this match finished in a 1-0 win for Polish champions Legia in nearby Slovakia, only separated by the Tatra mountains.

I was expecting a bit more of an open game in the previous leg and thought Trencin would at least get themselves on the score-sheet, even if they failed to win. However, having prevented their opponents from getting an away goal, Legia are now in pole position to qualify for the next round.

Although Besnik Hasi’s Legia recorded a 3-2 away victory over Wisla Plock over the weekend, they are still sitting in mid-table after three games thanks to two draws in the previous matches. This is obviously not the best start for the Poles, but it must be noted that they are undefeated both in the Ekstraklasa and Champions League qualifiers this season so far.

Trencin on the other hand suffered a 3-0 defeat to Zlate Moravce, who have now moved above them, on Saturday which places Martin Ševela’s sode 9th in the Slovak Fortuna Liga, two points off the European spots and four points off the title as well as a -1 goal difference. Not a good start to their title defence.

In terms of the betting in this one, I cannot see anything other than a Legia Warsaw win. There is a small amount of value on this stake at 13/16 with Marathon which might be worth going for, however, if you want a better return you need to look at other markets.

Firstly I would back Legia to win to nil at 15/8 as I cannot imagine them allowing Trencin even a sniff of an away goal, so expect a solid performance.
