Legia Warsaw v Dundalk Betting Tip

Undoubtedly the romance story of this season’s Champions League qualification campaign has been Dundalk, of the League of Ireland, having a chance of making the group stages. It would have been the first time an Irish team had achieved such a feat but unfortunately Legia Warsaw have seemingly smashed that dream into smithereens.

The Polish champions did a very professional job on their Irish opponents by coming away with a solid 2-0 victory and you would expect them to book their place in the group stages of Europe’s premier competition with a similar performance in Warsaw. However, their Ekstraklasa title defence has got off to an incredibly poor start and the side from the Polish capital currently sit in 11th place after just one win, three draws and two losses. Both of those defeats came in their last two domestic games.

If Dundalk fail to get passed Legia in this match they will still have managed to qualify for the Europa League stages, a fantastic achievement for a club of their stature.

Although they have done incredibly well in Europe, it has come at a price in their League of Ireland campaign in recent times. Stephen Kenny’s side are still top of the table with three games in hand over second place but they have lost their last two domestic fixtures.

I cannot imagine Dundalk getting a result in Warsaw and think the Polish champions will once again come out victorious. However, there is no value in this market.

Dundalk will want to go out on a high and know they have nothing to lose and I can see them scoring in this match. You can get this at Evens or, with my prediction of Legia winning, I would advise putting something on Both Teams to Score at 13/10.
