La Liga’s leaders will be looking to continue their march towards the title on Wednesday evening when they travel to take on a Leganés side who’ve put in a number of pleasing display of late. Although the visitors should really be coming out on top, having scored a fair few no doubt, the hosts shouldn’t be completely written off and could cause the Spanish giants one or two problems.

Goals have very much been the order of the day for Real of late and this match is expected to be no different. With the quality at Zidane’s disposal, it’s often hard to go against Madrid running riot, but Leganés are a side who enjoy playing on the counter and could contribute more going forward than you might expect. ‘Over 3.5 Goals’ and ‘Over 1.5 Second Half Goals’ are two bets that make plenty of appeal ahead of this fixture.

Madrid’s attacking force needs little explanation and, therefore, it’s unsurprising that the visitors have scored 74 goals in La Liga so far this season. They’re a threat from all angles and have been particularly prolific away from home of late. Zidane’s men have scored no less than 13 goals in their last five on the road; however, they’re without a clean sheet in that time, conceding a total of seven. Although the hosts will find it extremely hard to stop Madrid flourishing in the final third, there’s certainly hope for them at the other end.

When playing away from home, high-scoring matches have been part and parcel of the game for Madrid with ‘Over 3.5 Goals’ landing in six of their 13 La Liga matches, as well as in 12 in all competitions. Leganés of course cannot match these stats, but they’re not exactly strangers to mixing it in high-scoring fashion when facing the bigger teams. At least four match goals were scored when Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla and Villarreal visited Butarque this season.

Goals after the break have also been hugely favoured by the league leaders during this campaign, especially on the road. At least two second half goals were scored in nine of Madrid’s 13 away games so far this season.

As touched on above, with the superior quality in their ranks, it’s almost impossible to feel upbeat about the home team’s chances of preventing the visitors from coming out on top, and they’re likely to struggle defensively. At the same time though, Real Madrid continue to show that they’re anything but secure at the back, particularly on the road, so the hosts have every chance of getting themselves on the score-sheet.

It seems inevitable that the goals will arrive in this fixture and, therefore, getting behind the bets discussed are two ways in which punters can make this fixture pay.
