Leeds United hoping for a top-half finish
Leeds are guaranteed another season in the Premier League. The Peacocks got promoted from the Championship last season after a sixteen-year absence from the top flight. They did have a relatively good season and coach Marcelo Bielsa has done a great job guiding Leeds to the tenth position so far.
Although the Whites have no defeats in their last five matches, they are yet to upset the odds when playing at home as outsiders. Leeds have picked up 11 points from their last five points, they are unbeaten in their last three home games and their last four games have finished with two or more goals.
Manchester United in a relaxed position
Unbeaten in 12 league games, Manchester United couldn’t put enough pressure at the right time on League leaders Manchester City to avoid the 11 points deficit they are facing now. It seems an impossible task for the Red Devils to catch their city rivals even though mathematically it is possible with six matches remaining but given the unwavering form of The Citizens, we believe it’s only a matter of time until City clinches the title.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have his mind in the Europa League semi-final next week as United will face AS Roma. The Red Devils have won five straight games beating City in the Manchester derby in the process. United scored 11 goals in five matches and 19-year-old Mason Greenwood has scored four goals in the last three matches.
Key Stats
- 50% of Leeds home matches have seen both teams score
- 63% of Manchester United away matches have seen both teams score
- Leeds had clean sheets in 31% of their home games
- Man Utd had clean sheets in 38% of their away matches
Leeds United vs Manchester United Prediction
Solskjaer may rest some of his key players ahead of next Thursday’s Europa League semi-final clash. But that doesn’t mean United will lose their strength as their young players have performed very well in recent games.
Leeds may find it a chance to avenge for their 6-2 defeat in the opposite fixture last December. Bielsa has proved many times he is a great tactician but he couldn’t beat a top club this season yet. We believe there is a big chance that both teams will score in this match as the stats show and we will back that. For our second prediction, we will back home win or draw.
