Jesse Marsch’s first home game in charge of Leeds didn’t go exactly to plan when United lost 3-0 to Aston Villa and failed to score for the fifth time in six Premier League matches. Norwich’s results have been similarly poor, though the Canaries did manage to notch in three of their last four games and that extra blast of firepower opens up an opportunity to back them with a +1.0 handicap against their goal-shy hosts.

Despite their recent improvements in attack, bottom club Norwich are still the Premier League’s lowest scoring team (17) this season, though Leeds haven’t exactly been pulling up any trees in forward areas themselves, netting in just two of their last eight league fixtures. Preliminary review and match prediction for Leeds vs Norwich City

Marcelo Bielsa is out and Jesse Marsch is in at Elland Road, but despite the managerial switcheroo, the defeats just keep on coming for Leeds who were dismantled 3-0 by Aston Villa on Thursday in the American coach’s first home game.

Leeds are now perilously close to the drop zone and the two-point buffer between them and Burnley in 18^th place looks even more brittle when you consider that the Clarets still have two games in hand.

Immediate wins are vital then, though the Yorkshiremen just cannot seem to score goals. Even with Patrick Bamford back spearheading the attack, Leeds failed to notch for the fifth time in six fixtures when they were shut out by Villa in midweek.

Leeds lodged an xG of just 0.19 against the Villains and they looked a shadow of the team that exploded back onto the top-flight scene under recently-axed boss Bielsa last year.

Norwich meanwhile, were beaten 3-1 at home by crisis club Chelsea in their own test on Thursday, though they did manage to net token effort for the third time in four matches and though that might seem like scant consolation for the Canaries, it should make all the difference for bettors this weekend.

Indeed, City have hit the net in seven of their last eight Premier League contests overall since mid-January and they have attacked with greater efficiency since Dean Smith took the reins.
