Lazio vs Parma: A relatively easy pass for the Romans

Lazio will host Parma in this round of ⅛. The two teams met last week again in the Serie A in Parma and the visitors won by 0-2. It’s a cup tie this time around though and if Parma can hold well in defense and break on the counters they may have a chance of a surprise win. But Lazio is booming with confidence now after their last win against arch-rivals AS Roma in the Serie A last Friday by 3-0.

They will play their first match in Coppa Italia this season against Parma. They have scored in six of their last six matches totaling 12 goals in those games. Their top scorer Ciro Immobile with 12 goals is on form and he scored in the derby game last week. Lazio is a very organized team and they play very attractive football with many goals scored in most of their matches.

Parma played 2 matches prior to this round, they beat Pescara 3-1 and Cosenza 2-1. Manager Roberto D’Aversa who replaced former Manager Fabio Liverano who was sacked early this month will have his attention more on the Serie A as his team is in the relegation zone, so he may rest some of his starting players for the upcoming League fixtures. In the previous six matches, Parma has scored just 2 goals and conceded 15 goals.

The obvious outcome of this match is a home win but we think more than 2.5 goals will be scored as well.
