Having tasted defeat last time out, both by the narrowest of margins, both Las Palmas and Real Sociedad will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they face each other at Estadio Gran Canaria on Friday night.

Despite losing in their last match, there’s good reason to fancy the chances of the visiting team ahead of this fixture, and, at odds of 7/4, backing ‘Real Sociedad to Win’ is the way to go.

Form of late doesn’t exactly make great reading for Sociedad fans; however, they’ve faced a number of tough fixtures in quick succession and, with this being the sort of game that the basque side have relished this season, can regain the winning thread here.

Away from home during this campaign, Eusebio Sacristán’s men have acquitted themselves pretty well, particularly against teams from the bottom half of the table. Early on, Sociedad were struggling on the road, but since losing away to Bilbao back October 2016, Sacristán’s side have won five of their last eight fixtures, beating four of the five bottom half teams that they’ve come up against. Three of those aforementioned five fixtures saw Sociedad keep a clean sheet, while they’ve scored no less ten goals in those matches. On top of this, Erreala come into this match having secured a pleasing victory when they lasted played on the road, winning 2-1 away at Espanyol.

As for the hosts, well, Las Palmas come into this game in a rather sorry-looking state. The Gran Canaria club have lost each of their last three and have now won just one of their last ten in La Liga. Worrying stats indeed for a team who started the campaign so well. Almost all of their early season promise has now faded and, against a Sociedad who’ve made a habit of winning this type of match, Quique Setién’s woes could continue.

Scoring goals has been a real problem for the hosts of late, they’ve scored just one in their last three and even that was a long-range free-kick. When teams start relying on wonder goals to do the business, they’re struggling.

Quite frankly, although they lost out at the death to Villarreal last weekend, Sociedad look to have been handed an excellent opportunity to bounce back here and, at a price of 7/4, are fancied to do just that.
