Having secured what is a commanding two-goal-lead in the away-leg, Juventus are well and truly in pole position to qualify from this tie.

It’s unfortunate that Porto had to play with ten men for most of the first-leg – as a result, never really got the chance to put their best foot forward – but that’s how things panned out and the Portuguese outfit now look to have little chance of qualifying from this point.

In front of a home crowd, Juventus are an extremely difficult side to get the better of and, with a two goal-cushion, it’s hard to see them slipping up here. In fact, with the way this tie is set up thanks to the Italians 2-0 victory in the first-leg, it would be no surprise if Massimiliano Allegri’s side added more goals.

The bet that stands out is ‘Juventus to Score Over 1.5 Goals’. With Porto being forced to come and have a go, the hosts could quite easily find themselves profiting on the counter and should be more than capable of doubling their goal tally for the tie, at least.

On their own patch, Juve are a side capable of outplaying most sides and boast the record to prove it. In Serie A this season, Aleggri’s men have a 100% record at home and have scored a remarkable 38 goals in just 15 matches, failing to score at least twice on just one occasion. During the group stages of this competition, the Old Lady didn’t fare as well but they were still unbeaten in three home matches, scoring twice in a victory over Dinamo Zagreb in their final group game.

Although Juventus weren’t quite firing on all cylinders in the group stages – drew to both Lyon and Sevilla at home – they come into this match in excellent form having won (and scored twice) in four of their last five fixtures, while the two goals scored away from home should allow them to play on the counter. Such a tactic could quite easily prove fruitful given the pace and attacking guile of players such as Juan Cuadrado and Paul Dybala.

Porto are by no means a bad side and come into this fixture in good domestic form, especially on the road, but they rather shot themselves in the foot at home and are faced with an almighty task here, not to mention a conundrum as to whether they go for it from the off or not. On the one hand, the visitors need at least two goals and, therefore, have to attack. In doing so, they’re likely to present the hosts with numerous counter-attacking opportunities. On the other hand, they could sit back and remain patient; however, allowing a strong side to dictate possession will also cause problems, as the Portguese outfit eventually found out in the first-leg. Either way, it’s fancied that Juventus will have too much in the locker and they’re expected to once again find the net a few times.

Considering how often Juve score a minimum of two goals in front of their own fans, it’s extremely rare to get a price such as 17/20 on ‘Juventus to Score Over 1.5 Goals’ and, with plenty in their favour, this rarity is well worth taking advantage of.
