Frankfurt may have failed to make any headway when losing 3-0 away at Leverkusen last weekend, but they’ve been handed a life-line here and can bounce back against an Ingolstadt side who’ve been finding Bundesliga life very tough of late.

Despite receiving what seems like a hammering last Saturday, Frankfurt remain one the league’s strongest teams on their own patch and should have more than enough about them to quickly regain the winning thread.

Considering their respective home and away records this season, it’s quite surprising to see the hosts priced up around the 11/10 mark with most firms ahead of this match. Given the disparity between these two, this is a price that is certainly worth snapping up and, therefore, backing Frankfurt to come out on top here is very much the way to go.

As they’re still unbeaten on home soil, Niko Kovač’s men have made the Commerzbank-Arena a real fortress this season and it’s difficult to see 17th place Ingolstadt changing this.

Frankfurt have won six of their nine home matches, including each of their last two, scoring five goals and conceding none in the process. Overall they’ve netted 16 goals on home soil and have conceded just seven. To say Kovac’s side have been defensively sound would probably be an understatement, and the hosts have now kept five clean sheets in front of a home crowd, shutting out their opponents in four of their last five at home.

The fact that Frankfurt have looked so strong at the back is particularly discouraging for Ingolstadt, especially since they’ve scored just seven goals on the road this season (third-lowest total in the Bundesliga). In conceding 15 goals – just one clean sheet away from home – it’s fair to say that Ingolstadt haven’t exactly defended well, but going forward is certainly the main issue for Maik Walpurgis’ side. The visitors have scored just two goals in their last five Bundesliga fixtures and, if Frankfurt are intent on keeping things as tight as they usually do at home, then they could be set for another fruitless outing.

Having lost on their travels last time out, a home tie against a side who’re really struggling is just what the doctor ordered and Frankfurt are expected to take advantage by recording their seventh home victory of the season.
