France – Russia. Valeri Karpin’s prediction
France proved their top status by the win against Netherlands. Didier Deschamps’ team is a favourite in the upcoming match against Russia, too. They are playing at home and they have more stars in the squad.
But I expect Russia to give a fight to France. Leonid Slutsky tried some new players against Lithuania and we can’t judge Russian team by that game. Their squad in France will be completely different with all best players on the field.
Yes, the French are tough to oppose, but with all that they lost to England at home. Slutsky’s players are now fit because Russian Premier league is now in full spate. And Russia have an additional motivation to outplay France in away game.
That’s why I see a draw here.
