Fenerbahçe x Sivasspor – Preview, Prediction and Betting Tips 04/12/2023
Fenerbahce
Fenerbahçe made an impressive start to the season in Turkey, but have struggled to replicate the same performance in Europe of late. The 6-1 defeat suffered on Thursday against Nordsjaelland left the team in third place in the Europa Conference League group.
Ismail Kartal’s men will be looking for a response to their disappointing performance and result in the continental competition when they host Sivasspor on Monday, aiming to record another victory at home.
Although Adana Demirspor have accumulated one more point than Fener in home games – 19 to 18 – both clubs have achieved six victories each in front of their home fans.
The league’s previously leading club returned to winning ways at home with a 2-1 victory over Fatih Karagumruk on 26 November, a much-needed victory to erase the 3-2 disappointment against Trabzonspor at the start of the month.
With Galatasaray’s 2-0 victory over relegation-threatened Pendikspor on Saturday, the Yellow Canaries are three points behind their Istanbul rivals going into action on Monday.
Probable Fenerbahçe lineup: Dominik Livakovic, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Jayden Oosterwolde, Yusuf Akcicek, Miguel Crespo, Sebastian Szymanski, Ismail Yuksek, Cengiz Under, Michy Batshuayi, Ryan Kent, Dusan Tadic
Sivasspor
As for Sivasspor, the mid-table team will be hoping to make matters worse for their hosts with a top-notch performance in Istanbul.
Precedent favors Yigidos, who have missed just one of their four recent visits to Fenerbahçe in the Super League, even if that was their last visit, in November 2022.
That 1-0 defeat ended Sivasspor’s three-game (two wins) unbeaten run against Monday’s opponents, and they look to surprise their more illustrious hosts once again in Week 14.
Despite a 3-0 defeat to Karagumruk two weeks ago, the Sivas club have more points on the road (10) than all but two of the Super Lig clubs – the top two teams in the league (16) – and intends to win again in Istanbul.
Servet Cetin will be hoping his side find the back of the net on Monday, as both of their away defeats came in games where Yigidos did not score goals, and they are unbeaten in the four matches in which they have scored.
Probable Sivasspor lineup: Ali Sasal Vural, Alaaddin Okumus, Samba Camara, Caner Osmanpasa, Ugur Ciftci, Charilaos Charisis, Yunus Konak, Emrah Bassan, Rey Manaj, Burak Kapacak, Samuel Sáiz
Conclusion:
Regardless of the pain caused by Thursday’s heavy Conference League defeat, Fenerbahçe should get back to winning ways on Monday with a hard-fought victory over one of the league’s best teams.
