A win will see Leicester City qualify for the knockout rounds in their inspirational debut Champions League season, whilst Danish side FC Copenhagen will also be looking to further cement their claim for a last-16 spot with a positive result against the English champions.

FC Copenhagen have gone somewhat under the radar during this Champions League campaign. With Leicester City dominating Group G with a 100% record, Copenhagen’s good performances seem to have gone unnoticed.

Before their defeat to Leicester City last time out, Stale Solbakken’s side earned a respectable draw away against 2004 Champions League winners Porto before thrashing Club Brugge 4-0.

They put up a good fight against Leicester in the last round of fixtures and will have felt unlucky not to have come away with a draw. A save from Leicester’s Danish international goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, saw The Lions leave the King Power empty handed.

I first noticed Copenhagen’s results when they turned over Romanian side Astra Giurgiu in impressive fashion back in the qualifying rounds and have kept a bit of an eye on them since. They are currently top of the Danish Superliga and are undefeated in the league – winning each of their last three matches.

Their most recent victory was a 3-1 victory against title rivals Midtjylland which increased the gap between the two clubs to nine points. In between them are Copenhagen’s local rivals Brondby IF who are six points off top spot.

Leicester may be a good team, but underestimate this exciting Copenhagen side at your peril.

The Foxes fairytale from last season continues but this time in the Champions League as Claudio Ranieri’s men look to secure passage to the next round of the competition with a win.

Despite their victory against FC Copenhagen in the last round of European fixtures, ex-Manchester United midfielder and straight-talking pundit Roy Keane slammed Leicester for not doing the business in the league – which of course is what got them to the Champions League in the first place.

Whilst it does sound harsh, it is undoubtedly true. Since then, the Premier League champions have convincingly seen off Crystal Palace before earning an impressive point away at fellow Champions League participants Tottenham Hotspur.

Although they may have improved in the last couple of matches, there is no doubt that the Foxes seem to psych themselves up more for Champions League matches and I expect the same in Copenhagen on Wednesday night.

As previously explained, Copenhagen are a good side who have performed well both on a domestic and European level. However, there is just something about Leicester City and the Champions League which brings out the best in them and they will feel confident that they can get the better of one of their rivals for top spot in Group G.

I think the Foxes should just about to come through this test and secure passage into the last 16, but I expect Copenhagen to run them close.

The home side are actually the favourites for this game (which isn’t that surprising), but I am still backing the Foxes at 13/5.

If you want something a bit safer then perhaps look at a simple ‘Both Teams to Score’ bet at Evens. Whilst Copenhagen may not have found the back of the net against Leicester, they are likely to create more at home and it would no surprise if they took one. They have 33 goals in 15 matches in the Superliga whilst they are also Group G’s joint top-scorers, alongside Leicester, with five goals.

Of course with my earlier prediction of a Leicester win then you can assume I think they will score. They have an incredible amount of firepower in their team with the likes of Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez, Islam Slimani and Shinji Okazaki whilst summer signing Ahmed Musa’s improving form only helps that.

I can only wish there were odds offered on atmosphere because, if it is anything like both sets of fans made it at the King Power, it should be incredible.
