Espanyol – Barcelona. Konstantin Genich’s prediction
This is the Catalan derby! This year was totally successful for Barcelona. And their first match in 2016 is a derby against Espanyol. It’s hard to predict something when two teams play three times in a row. We know that Barcelona are considered as favourites anyway. But Espanyol can be more relaxed and challenging in La Liga. More to say, they are playing at home. But the numbers testify the opposite. Barcelona had not conceded any goals in the last three games and the same was in the the last three games at Cornella el Prat. They often get their wins with a little goal difference. But they should concede at last! Especially in derby away game.
Barcelona will score for sure, but we can expect a goal from Espanyol. Soon or later Espanyol’s unlucky streak must come to an end. Their chance is in challenging football. No use in parking the bus! So I suggest to bet on both teams to score. Espanyol can look for a goal at the front of their fans in the first match of a year. And the odds on that are pretty decent.
