This is the game that citizens of both countries have been looking forward to for months. Although both managers said they would rather not play each other before the draw was made, both Roy Hodgson and Chris Coleman will be relishing this British derby match.

England played well in their 1-1 draw with Russia and will feel unfortunate to not have taken all three points. It was just that one moment where they lacked concentration which will always cost you at international level. Seeing as Hodgson’s men played well, I cannot see too many changes to the line-up for this match against Wales.

Wales were exceptional in their 2-1 win over Slovakia and you could tell they were relishing their first tournament since 1958. They pressed high up the pitch and gave Slovakia no time on the ball and took their chances when they came with Slovakia only allowed to express themselves for small parts of the game.

Both the full backs of England and Wales were excellent in their tournament opener’s as they pushed their opposition back into their own half. These full backs will once again be vital for this game and you imagine that whoever wins the battle of the full backs could win the game.

The Welsh undoubtedly have the best team of the two sides, not in terms of quality on paper but in terms of fighting spirit and togetherness. However, I would expect England to come out on top as they know a win is vital not only for local bragging rights but also to make sure they qualify from Group B. Expect Wales to score though with England looking dodgy at the back.
