England v Portugal. Tancredi Palmeri’s prediction
Obviously there is no Cristiano Ronaldo for Portugal against England. The talisman is naturally being rested after his Champions League winning exertions last Saturday. This means that Portugal lose a substantial part of their attacking threat. Nevertheless they are still a decent side, a side who made light work of dismantling Norway 3-0 just four days ago. Manager Fernando Santos seems to have really given this team a lift.
England on the other hand are trying to establish whether or not this is the time where they can finally live up to expectations. From what we’ve seen so far they look to be in the right mood and their is already evidence of a togetherness within the team. Several of the players are coming into this England side off the back of successful domestic campaigns and things are looking bright for this young, energetic, attack minded squad. With the likes of Kane, Vardy, Rooney, Sturridge & even youngster Marcus Rashford, England should have no trouble when it comes to scoring goals. Couple this with the fact that they’ve only lost one game on home soil in their last 11 and they look a good bet for this.
