Basement side Dundee United have struggled to keep pace with only seven wins this season, one arriving away to Inverness last week, so it’s unsurprising they are already relegated.
Talks with former midfielder and Raith Rovers boss, Ray McKinnon, to take over as manager, may motivate the playing staff and even their caretaker manager, Gordon Young, has told McKinnon it’s ‘a tremendous opportunity’. Motivation has been lacking for the Tangerines since they were doomed to wind up in the second division.
Partick Thistle have already maintained their place in the Scottish Premier League with a vital win last week so may take their foot off the gas, but I suspect they’ll want to finish on a high, rather than just relief.
Neither side have an outstanding defence so, rather than necessarily being praiseworthy of their attack, we expect goals… Both teams to score is on at a modest 1.61.
